Chengdu Natural & Cultural Heritage Tour 6 days

Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area, Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Are and Dujiangyan Irrigation Project and Mt. Qingcheng were designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which are on the must see list while traveling in Chengdu.

Itinerary

Day 1: Chengdu Arrival
Welcome to China. Upon arrival, our local guide will take you to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.

Day 2: Chengdu (B+L)
Sightseeing: Panda Breeding and Research Center / Wuhou Memorial Temple / Jinli Street / Wangjiang Park

You will start the day with a visit to Panda Breeding and Research Center, which is one place where visitors can observe pandas at close range. After lunch, you will pay a visit to Wuhou Memorial Temple, one of the key state-preserved cultural relic units, was built in the 6th Century. After visiting Wuhou Memorial Temple, you will stroll along the Jinli Street. There are numerous old-world stores selling Shu Embroidery, lacquer products, folk handicrafts, curios, or calligraphies and paintings of celebrities. Then you will head to visit Wangjiang Park, which is located two kilometers east of Chengdu, on the south bank of the Jinjiang River.

Day 3: Chengdu – Jiuzhaigou by air (B+L)
Sightseeing: Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area

Get up early and take morning flight to Jiuzhaigou. Then you will visit Huanglong Scenic and Historic Interest Area, located in Songpan County, is UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is noted for its colorful waters, lakes, hot springs, snow-capped mountains, valleys and forest.

Day 4: Jiuzhaigou (B+L)
Sightseeing: Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area

Starting the day later than usual, you will visit Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area. Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area has an unusual ecosystem with dozens of pristine lakes, waterfalls, forests and rare animals. This site has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5: Jiuzhaigou – Chengdu by air (B+L)
Sightseeing: Dujiangyan Irrigation Project / Mt. Qingcheng

Take morning flight back to Chengdu and then drive about 60km to visit Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. Now, the project is honored as the 'Treasure of Sichuan', which still plays a crucial role in draining off floodwater, irrigating farms and providing water resources for more than 50 cities in the province. Then you will also pay a visit to Mt. Qingcheng, located in the southwest of the Dujiangyan Irrigation Project. It is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. The Dujiangyan Irrigation Project and Mt. Qingcheng were listed as one of the World's Cultural Heritage by the United Nations Heritage Commission in 2000.

Day 6: Chengdu – Next Destination (B+L)
The morning is at your leisure before you board your flight to next destination.
