Itinerary

Day 1: Chongqing Arrival
Welcome to China. Upon arrival, our local guide will take you to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.

Day 2: Chongqing – Dazu – Chongqing (B+L)
Sightseeing: Dazu Rock Carvings
Get up early in the morning and drive about 167km to visit Dazu Rock Carvings, which is as famous as the Mogao Cave in Dunhuang, Gansu Province. The collection is composed of the rock carvings in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan as well as Shizhuanshan, all of which are of the highest artistic attainment and demonstrate the most exquisite skills. Among the rock carvings, there are more than 5,000 statues and over100, 000 Chinese characters of inscriptions and epigraphs. In 1999, the Dazu Rock Carving was ranked as a World Cultural Heritage Site. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Chongqing city.

Day 3: Chongqing – Next Destination (B+L)
Sightseeing: Chongqing Zoo / Ciqikou Ancient Town/ Chongqing People's Assembly Hall
Today you will start the day with a trip to Chongqing Zoo - the largest zoo in southwest China with over 1000 birds and 170 species of animals, where you can see naive giant panda, lesser pandas and their offspring, golden hair monkeys and South China tigers. After lunch, you will stroll along Ciqikou Ancient Town, one of the key historic districts under conservation in the urban area of Chongqing. Walking along the town, tourists will be fascinated by various spectacular temples, elegant courtyards of great antiquity and teahouses full of ancient customs. You will also pay a visit to the Chongqing People's Assembly Hall. At the first glance, the People's Assembly Hall looks like the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. It is spanned by greenish glazed tile dome supported by scarlet columns.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport to next destination to get on the ship for Yangtze River cruise.
