Itinerary
Day 1: Guilin Arrival
You will be met at the airport and transferred to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.
Day 2: Guilin - Sanjiang: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge / Mapang Drum Tower / Yinshui Dong Village
In the morning, you spend approx. 4 hours in a private vehicle driving into Sanjiang County. Upon arrival, you will visit the famous Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, which is 78m-long and took villagers 12 years to build, theoretically without nails. Built in 1912, Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is considered by the Dong to be the finest of the 108 such structures in Sanjiang County. Afterwards, you will also pay a visit to Mapang Drum Tower. It is a unique example of ethnic architecture of the villages of the Dong nationality, and one of the key cultural relics being preserved by Guangxi authorities. Your next stop is Yinshui Dong Village, a typical Dong village with picturesque scenery. The village is built in a valley, and the mountain slopes are very steep. The waterfall is like a silver chain hanging off the mountain slope, hence the attractive name of Yinshui: 'Silver Water'.
Day 3: Sanjiang - Longsheng: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Longsheng Terraced Rice Fields
After checking out at your hotel, drive about 2 hours to Longsheng County for an ethnic tribe’s culture expedition. Longsheng is famous for its natural beauty and its colorful ethnic Chinese cultures and customs. There, breathtaking terraced rice fields will greet your eyes. The terraced fields, with the highest elevation of 885m and the lowest of 380m, are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top. Seen from afar the view looks like a huge snail. In addition, you will enjoy the hiking tours around Pingan Village. Pingan Village is nestled high on the mountain slope, and overlooks a breathtaking view of a wide expanse of carefully carved fields. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset from an outdoor patio overlooking the valley.
Day 4: Longsheng - Guilin: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Elephant Trunk Hill / Reed Flute Cave
After sampling some delicious local breakfast at your hostel, drive back to downtown Guilin. Then you will start the day with a trip to Elephant Trunk Hill. As the symbol of Guilin, it has become one of the most popular natural monuments. It resembles an elephant drinking from the Li River. Afterwards, you will pay a visit to the Reed Flute Cave. The Cave is Guilin's largest and most impressive cave. This cave is 790 feet deep. A visitor will walk for some 550 yards through a zigzagging way of stalactites and stalagmites lit in dazzling colors.
Day 5: Guilin – Yangshuo: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Li River / Western Street
You will get up early in the morning and drive about 40 minutes to Zhujiang pier to take the Li River cruise, which is considered as one of China's top tourist destinations. It is the river depicted in traditional Chinese poems and paintings. The region covers an 83-km karst area with clear, exotic, ingenious and changing characteristics. After the 4.5 hour Li River Cruise, you will arrive in Yangshuo County, a dream place for many tourists who want to see the real natural landscape and touch the countryside life.
You will take a short walk along the famous foreigner street- Western Street - after checking in at your hotel.
Day 6: Yangshuo – Next destination: Meal(s) (B+L)
Enjoy your free time until your transfer to the airport for departure to your next destination.
