Itinerary
Day 1: Nanning – Jiuxiu: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Dayaoshan Mountain / Shengtangshang Mountain
Upon your arrival in Nanning, you will be met at the airport and driven about 400km to Jinxiu County to visit a Yao Village in Dayaoshan Mountain, where live five groups of the Yao people-- Pan Yao, Chashan Yao, Ao Yao, Shanzi Yao, and Hualan Yao, each with their own folk customs. The special customs, festivals and all kinds of ceremonies on Dayao Mountain have attracted tourists from all over the world. Afterward, you will pay a visit to Shengtangshang Mountain. Every year in May over 700 hectares of azaleas bloom on the mountain, making it a sea of flowers, an ideal place for the mountain climbing and appreciating flowers.
Day 2: Jiuxiu - Liuzhou: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Yufeng Hill / Bagui Stone Museum / Liuhou Temple
Get up early in the morning and drive about 150km to Liuzhou and visit Yufeng Hill. This is a good place for people to sing and mix with each other, as well as a good place for tourists to get to know about Liuzhou and its cultures. Then proceed to visit Bagui Stone Museum to learn about the odd shapes that form as a result of the local geographic forces. After lunch, your next stop is Liuhou Temple. The present Liuhou Temple has been rebuilt according to the construction features of Qing Dynasty; many cultural relics and historical materials are displayed in the temple, which affect biographical notes and political achievements.
Day 3: Liuzhou - Yizhou: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Xiajian River / Liusanjie's Hometown / Liushanjie's Academy
After checking out at the hotel, drive to Yizhou and visit Xiajian River. The clear Xiajian River in Yizhou, is the birthplace of Sanjie Liu, a famous Zhuangzu singer as well as the pride of the Zhuangzu people. Afterwards, you will also pay a visit to Sanjie Liu's hometown and Sanjie Liu's Academy.
Day 4: Yizhou – Luocheng - Rongshui: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Luocheng Culture Square / Museum of the Mulao Minority / Chenglong Park
After breakfast, you will take a short drive to Luocheng. Upon arrival, visit Luocheng Culture Square, the Museum of the Molao Minority and Chenglong Park. Then drive to Rongshui Miao Autonomous County, which is the residence of many nationalities, including Miao, Yao, Dong, Zhuang and Han, etc. It features green hills, clear water and abundant national customs. The picturesque scenery of the Bei River and the Miao Villages alongside it, various Miao songs and dances, sensational horse-fighting, unusual wedding customs, peculiar Miao Diaojiao buildings, colorful minority costumes and interesting minority meals, etc, form a beautiful picture of minority customs.
Day 5: Rongshui – Sanjiang - Longsheng: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Bei River / Changlai Miao Village / Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge
Your morning tour features the Bei River and Changlai Miao Village. The clear Bei River flows all the year round and the bamboo growing on the banks are green in all four seasons. The Changlai Miao Village, on the Bei River bank and 10 kilometers from the county seat, features Miao dance and reed-pipe music. The villagers always entertain their guests with unique local foods. For lunch you'll sample some delicious county fare in a local restaurant. Then drive to Sanjiang County to visit Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, which is the largest wind and rain bridge. It also is the crystal of the Dong people's wisdom. It is one of the precious artistic things of Chinese wood architecture. Late afternoon, arrive at Longsheng.
Day 6: Longsheng - Guilin: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Terraced Rice Fields / Hongyao Minority Village
You spend the morning visiting the breathtaking terraced rice fields in Longsheng County. The terraced fields, with the highest elevation of 885m and the lowest of 380m, are built along the slope winding from the riverside up to the mountain top. Seen from afar the view looks like a huge snail. Upon arrival, you will enjoy the hiking tours around Pingan village for the wonderful views. Afterwards, you will also pay a visit to Hongyao Minority Village. They're famous for their long hair and singing voices. Their hair is cut only once in their life, at age 18. A girl's life prior to 18 belongs to her parents and starts over with her hair growing after. Their hair can get as long as 2 meters (6.5 feet!).
In the late afternoon, drive to downtown Guilin.
Day7: Guilin - Next destination: Meal(s) (B)
The morning is at your leisure before you board your flight back home.
