Guilin Highlights with Zhuang Minority Traditions Tour / 6 days

This tour features all the highlights of the scenery and cultures of the Guilin region and includes visits to the birthplace and hometown of the famous Zhuangzu singer, Liu Sanjie .

Itinerary

     

Day 1: Guilin Arrival: Meal(s) (L)
Sightseeing: Elephant Trunk Hill / Reed Flute Cave

You will be met at the airport and transferred to your downtown hotel. After freshening up, you will visit the Elephant Trunk Hill. As the symbol of Guilin, it has become one of the most popular natural monuments. It resembles an elephant drinking from the Li River. Afterwards, you will pay a visit to the Reed Flute Cave. The Cave is Guilin's largest and most impressive cave. This cave is 790 feet deep. A visitor will walk for some 550 yards through a zigzagging way of stalactites and stalagmites lit in dazzling colors.

     

Day 2: Guilin – Yangshuo: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Li River / Yulong River / Western Street

Get up early in the morning and drive about 40 minutes to Zhujiang pier to take the Li River cruise, which is considered as one of China's top tourist destinations. Along the river, you will enjoy the picturesque mountains, peaceful green fields, crystal-clear water, lush bamboos and villages with water buffalos. Lunch will be served on board.
After nearly 4.5 hours' Li River Cruise, Yangshuo, the beautiful and quaint ancient town with one thousand years' history, will greet your eyes. After checking in at your hotel, you will drift along the Yulong River, a unique experience on a bamboo raft, past picturesque rice paddy fields and amazing limestone hills. Afterwards, take a short walk along the famous foreigner street, Western Street.

Day 3: Yangshuo - Liuzhou: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Yufeng Hill / Bagui Stone Museum / Liuhou Temple

Get up early in the morning and drive about 150km to Liuzhou and visit Yufeng Hill. This is a good place for people to sing and mix with each other, as well as a good place for tourists to get to know about Liuzhou and its cultures. Then proceed to visit Bagui Stone Museum to learn about the odd shapes that form as a result of the local geographic forces. After lunch, your next stop is Liuhou Temple. The present Liuhou Temple has been rebuilt according to the construction features of Qing Dynasty; many cultural relics and historical materials are displayed in the temple, which affect biographical notes and political achievements.

Day 4: Liuzhou - Yizhou: Meal(s) (B+L)
Sightseeing: Xiajian River / Liusanjie's Hometown / Liushanjie's Academy

After checking out at the hotel, drive to Yizhou and visit Xiajian River. The clear Xiajian River in Yizhou, is the birthplace of Sanjie Liu, a famous Zhuangzu singer as well as the pride of the Zhuangzu people. Afterwards, you will also pay a visit to Sanjie Liu’s hometown and  Academy.

Day 5: Yizhou – Xincheng - Liuzhou: Meal(s) (B+L)
Get up early in the morning and drive 60km to Xincheng to visit Ruler Mo’s Government Office of the Zhuang Nationality in Xincheng in ancient times, which is noted as the Imperial Palace of the Zhuang Nationality. After having sampling some delicious food in a local restaurant, drive back to Liuzhou.

Day 6: Liuzhou – Next destination: Meal(s) (B+L)
You will depart Liuzhou in the morning to head to your next destination.
