Itinerary
Day 1: Beijing Arrival
Welcome to China. Upon arrival, our local guide will take you to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.
Day 2: Beijing (B+L)
Sightseeing: Tiananmen Square/ Forbidden City/ Temple of Heaven
Today you will visit the Tiananmen Square which is considered as the largest square of the world. Subsequently, you visit the Forbidden City, the most complete imperial palace in China. And later you will also pay a visit to the Temple of Heaven. Temple of Heaven was built in the year 1420 and symbolized the meaning that the emperor can contact with the sky through it.
Take the overnight soft sleeper train to Datong.
Day 3: Datong(B+L)
Sightseeing: Yungang Grottoes / the Huayan Monastery / Shanhua Monastery/ the Nine Dragon Screen.
Transfer to the hotel. Visit the Yungang Grottoes, it is one of the three major cave clusters in China which extends about 1 km (0.62 miles) from east to west. The construction of the caves was started under the auspices of the noted monk Tan Yao in 453 and took 50 years to complete.then go to visit the Huayan Monastery which is the largest and best preserved monastery of the Liao Dynasty in existence in China. After the Huayan Monastery,then go to visit Shanhua Monastery and the Nine Dragon Screen which is the best of its kind and the biggest in China
Day 4: Datong - Beijing(B+L)
Sightseeing: Fuoguang Temple
Full day tour to the Hanging Monastery and the Sakyamuni Wooden Pagoda at Fuoguang Temple in Yingxian County.
Take the overnight soft sleeper train back to Beijing.
Day 5: Beijing(B+L+D)
Sightseeing: the Badaling Great Wall/ the Ming Tomb/ The Beijing Duck Dinner
Arrive in Beijing in the morning. After having breakfast at the hotel, visit the Badaling Great Wall. To avoid having lunch at shopping site restaurants, you will be driven to have Sichuan food at a local popular restaurant. Visit the Ming Tomb in the afternoon. The Beijing Duck Dinner is served at a famous restaurant.
Day 6: Departure from Beijing(B)
Enjoy your freetime till transfer you to airport and see you off.
