Arrival Hong Kong and Train Tour to Roof of the World 18 days

Itinerary
Day 1: Hong Kong Arrival
Welcome to China. Upon arrival, our local guide will take you to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.
Day 2: Hong Kong (B)
Sightseeing: Victoria Peak / Aberdeen / Repulse Bay
You will spend half day touring around the city, including visits to Victoria Peak, Aberdeen and Repulse Bay. For lunch time, you will be transferred back to the hotel. The rest of the day is on your own to explore the city.
Day 3: Hong Kong - Guilin by air (B)
The morning is at your leisure before boarding your flight to Guilin. Upon arrival in Guilin, you will be welcome and picked up at the airport and transferred to the downtown hotel.
Day 4: Guilin – Yangshuo – Guilin (B+L)
Sightseeing: Li River / Western Street
Get up early in the morning and drive about 40 minutes to Zhujiang pier to take the Li River cruise, which is considered as one of China's top tourist destinations. It is the river of poems and paintings. The region covers 83-km karst area with clear, exotic, ingenious and changing characteristics. After nearly 4.5 hours' Li River Cruise, you will arrive at Yangshuo County, a dream place for many tourists who want to see the real natural landscape and touch the countryside life.
After taking a short walk along the famous foreigner street- Western Street, drive back to Guilin city.
Day 5: Guilin - Longsheng - Guilin (B+L)
Sightseeing: Longji Terraced Fields / Villages of Zhuang Minority
In the morning, you spend about 2.5 hours on private van driving into Longsheng County. Upon arrival, you will start the day with a trip to the famous Longji Terraced Fields. The terraces look like great chains or ribbons as they wind from the foot to the top of the hill. They were built from the Yuan dynasty to the beginning of Qing dynasty by the minority peoples of the area. For lunch, you'll sample some delicious country fare in a local restaurant. Then you will pay a visit to the Villages of Zhuang Minority. Visit Zhuang village and Yao minority villages, and Ping'an village, the architecture is unique as no nails are used in construction. In the late afternoon, you will drive to Guilin.
Day 6: Guilin – Xian by air (B+L)
Sightseeing: Reed Flute Cave / Elephant Trunk Hill
Today begins with a tour of Reed Flute Cave. Inside you will see different shapes of stalactites & stalagmites with huge imagination to name for them and it is known as "A Natural arts gallery". You next stop is Elephant Trunk Hill, which is regarded as the symbol of Guilin landscape. After lunch, you will take flight to Xian and transfer to the downtown hotel.
Day 7: Xian (B+L)
Sightseeing: Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum / Big Wild Goose Pagoda / Bell Tower
Today you will visit what has been called the 8th Wonder of the World the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is one of the most important archaeological excavations and culture findings in the 20th century. After lunch, you will drive back to downtown city to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda is one of symbols in Xian and a remarkable milestone of the Chinese architecture. Afterward, you will head to visit Bell Tower. Originally built in 1348, the Bell Tower in Xian is situated in the very heart of the city and is the most well-preserved and best-known one in China.
Day 8: Xian (B+L)
Sightseeing: Provincial History Museum / Great Mosque / City Wall
You will begin your journey to Provincial History Museum, which houses a large collection of historic and cultural artifacts unearthed in Shaanxi Province. After lunch, you will visit to the Great Mosque, one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China. Afterwards, you will also pay a visit to the City Wall, which is the most complete city wall to survive in China, as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world.
Day 9: Xian – Lhasa by air (B+L)
In the morning, you will depart for a flight to Lhasa and transfer to the hotel. Then take a rest in order to acclimatize to the high altitude in preparation for the next few days’ tour
Day 10: Lhasa (B+L)
Sightseeing: Potala Palace / Norbulingka / Sera Monastery
In the morning, you will visit the most well-known landmark of Tibet, the Potala Palace, which is famous for its grand buildings, complicated constructions, devotional atmosphere and splendid artworks. Afterwards, you will visit Norbulingka, meaning 'Treasure Park' in Tibetan. Then you will also pay a visit to Sera Monastery. It is one of three famous monasteries in Lhasa along with the Drepung Monastery and Ganden Monastery.
Day 11: Lhasa (B+L)
Sightseeing: Jokhang Temple / Barkhor Street / Drepung Monastery
Today you'll start from the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism - Jokhang Temple. With an area of 25,100 square meters (about six acres), it is the ultimate pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Pilgrims. Afterwards, you will visit Barkhor Street, which is a very ancient round street surrounding the Jokhang Temple. As a symbol of Lhasa, this street is also a must-see place for the tourists. After visiting Barkhor Street, you will proceed to Drepung Monastery. Drepung Monastery is known as the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism.
Day 12: Lhasa – Beijing by train (B+L)
In the morning, you will depart for train to Beijing.
Day 13: On the way to Beijing
You will be on the way to Beijing, and enjoy the sightseeing along the train.
Day 14: Beijing (B+L)
Sightseeing: Summer Palace
You will arrive in Beijing at 7.34a.m. and transfer to the downtown hotel. After lunch, you will start the day with a trip to the Summer Palace, which has a history of over 800 years. All the man-made hills, halls, pavilions and temples, including Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill, blend together harmoniously in spite of their individual styles.
Day 15: Beijing (B+L+D)
Sightseeing: Tiananmen Square / Forbidden City / Temple of Heaven / Peking Duck Dinner
Today you will visit the Tiananmen Square which is considered as the largest square of the world. Subsequently, you visit the Forbidden City, the most complete imperial palace in China. And later you will also pay a visit to the Temple of Heaven. Temple of Heaven was built in the year 1420 and symbolized the meaning that the emperor can contact with the sky through it.
Tonight, enjoy a Peking Duck Dinner in a famous restaurant.
Day 16: Beijing (B+L)
Sightseeing: Badaling Great Wall / Spirit Way / Ming Tomb
After breakfast, you will visit the Badaling Great Wall where you will experience at first hand the wonder of the Great Wall. For lunch you'll sample some delicious fare in a local restaurant. Afterwards, take a short drive to visit the Spirit Way and one of Ming Tombs. Spirit Way is an impressive marble archway as well as the entrance to the Ming Tombs equipped with many animals and people statues on the left and on the right of the avenue.
Ming Tombs are the representative royal tombs of the Ming Dynasty tombs. 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty from 1368 to 1644 were buried there.
Day 17: Beijing (B+L)
Sightseeing: Hutong / Lama Temple
Starting the day later than usual, you will start the day with a unique Hutong Trishaw tour in the morning. Hutongs are a kind of ancient city alley or lane that is considered an informal symbol of the Beijing city. Afterward, you will also pay a visit to the Lama Temple. It is a typical Tibetan Monastery in Beijing and reveals various architectural styles from Han, Mongolia, Manchuria and Tibet, and the impressive 60-foot Maitreya Buddha, carved form a single sandalwood tree.
Day 18: Beijing – Next Destination (B)
The morning is at your leisure before boarding your flight back home.
