Dongpo Pavilion
Dongpo Pavilion is located in Hepu Normal School, which was built in memory of Su Dongpo, a famous poet of the Song Dynasty (960-1127). In order to commemorate him, later generations constructed Dongpo Pavilion which has been rebuilt later on the site of the former Qingye garden. It's a two-layer pavilion style with a brick and timber structure like Resting Peak. Above the front door of the main pavilion hangs a big word board “Dongpo Pavilion” which was written by Tie Buddhist in Six Banyan Temple of Guangzhou. In the front wall of the pavilion is set a carved statue of Su Dongpo and steles displaying ten of his poems and articles. To the east of the pavilion lies Dongpo Park. When you arrive here, you are greeted by a wonderful view of the park's surrounding lake. The surface of the lake sparkles in the sunlight and the weeping willows swing gently with the breeze.
Although Su Dongpo lived here for just a short time, he still wrote several articles and poems to describe the life of the local people and his mood at the time. The pavilion, with its historical relics and beautiful scenery, has become a key tourist attraction.
