Temple of the Six Banyan Trees

Temple of the Six Banyan Trees, built in 537 A.D., is a renowned Buddhist site in Guangzhou. There used to grow six marvelous banyan trees in its courtyard, hence the name Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. There are majestic towers, dense trees, plenty of antiques and valuable heritage from those famous people in the history. The temple features a 57.6 meter high Flower Pagoda. It is a pagoda where Buddhist relics are placed. The pagoda not only has a nice appearance, but also provides visitors a good place to overlook enchanting scenery around. Every year on the Chinese traditional Spring Festival and Lantern Festival, the temple becomes a busy area. Numerous people queue to burn the first joss stick in order to be blessed by gods in the coming year.
