Yellow Crane Tower
Standing on the south bank of the Yangtze River and high up on Snake Hill, YellowCraneTower is know as one of the “Three Famous Towers South of the Yangtze River”. (The other two are YueyangTower in Hunan and TengwangTower in Jiangxi) The YellowCraneTower was first built in 223 A.D and was destroyed and rebuilt time and again throughout history.
The whole compound consists of the main tower, side pavilions, corridors, memorial archways, corridors of tablets with poem inscriptions and business streets of ancient style.
There are hundreds of poems and scores of writings in praise of the magnificent YellowCraneTower from past dynasties scholars. The legend about the tower has become a bright pearl of the Chinese literature.
